Markey’s Burgers in Paradise
Markey’s Burgers in Paradise were designed by Pat’s work family in Tampa, FL.
The socks are flat knit from a comfortable blend of cotton and polyester - the perfect dress socks.
Pat Markey is one of the founding colleagues at Baldwin Krystyn Sherman Partners, an insurance agency in Tampa, FL.
Pat lives with his wife - also named Pat Markey - near their daughter and grandchildren. In July 2016 he was diagnosed with bile duct cancer. His case was too pervasive for surgery, and traditional chemotherapy was unsuccessful. Doctors instead focused on containing his cancer, and were able to shrink the main tumor in his liver using local radiation.
Pat is an avid fan of chili, regularly eating it for lunch. “He’s the messiest cook I’ve ever seen,” laughed Pat Fuller, who has worked with him for several years. (Yes, that makes three Pats so far, for the math-minded readers. There is a fourth Pat, actually - another colleague at BKS who works with Pat Markey and Pat Fuller - they all sit next to each other.)
“Pat’s part of the family,” Fuller said. “He’s like the dad around here, he’s so kind and giving to everyone. You never feel like you’re interrupting him, you feel like you’re the most important person in his life when you’re in the room with him. He is dearly loved.”
Proceeds from the sales of Markey’s Burger in Paradise will go to his family to help with their expenses.
