Frustrated with poorly made non-slip hospital socks, Jake began working with , a 14-year-old non-hodgkin's patient, on a custom pair of socks to help bring some light to the patient-experience. When the design was finished, they made the socks available for sale to assist Samaury's family with healthcare costs. In just a few months, they raised thousands of dollars and equally as important, the socks became a physical symbol of support for Samaury and his journey.
As patients, we often feel a sense of helplessness, but these life-altering experiences drive us to be proactive. To be a force for good for something that has deep personal meaning. This is what binds the #RGCommunity: we are hell-bent on using personal experience to support patients and fundraise for health causes close to our hearts.
Resilience Gives (Resilience Project, Inc.) is a for-profit s-corporation whose mission is bigger than the bottom line. Ultimately, we formed as a for-profit organization because we felt it provided the best opportunity to achieve our mission of providing financial and emotional support to patients and empowering communities through fundraising to save lives.
