I love Elephants - they make me laugh, and their name starts with the letter E like mine! I also love sunny days and rainbows that me feel so happy. I love sharing that feeling with everyone around me.

Ella Siegel (aka Little Miss Sunshine)

Meet Eleanor (Ella, EllaJo, Little Miss Sunshine)! She is a vibrant, adventurous, and silly five year-old with a huge personality packed into her little being. Eleanor loves elephants, rainbows and bright sunshiny days. She is always singing, dancing, dressing up and wiggling around – it’s easy to pick her spunky voice out in a crowded room (it’s one of a kind full of life and love – just like her). She is absorbing the world around her and embracing all things beautiful.

When she was but six-months old, Ella was diagnosed with High-Risk Infant Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Little Miss Sunshine’s treatments were harsh on her tiny little body, but they had to be in order to save her life. Some of these life-saving medicines come with the potential for serious side effects. In addition to hoping that Ella beats the odds against a possible relapse of leukemia, we will need to monitor her heart’s health and watch for secondary cancers for the rest of her life.

When she was diagnosed, we spent a lot of time researching Eleanor’s cancer and learning how we could best help her fight. We were shocked to find that there was only one specific treatment that would help her. We were also shocked to discover that of all of the National Cancer Institute’s research funds, only 4% went towards pediatric cancer research!

Knowing that more needs to be done for pediatric cancer research, we started raising money hoping to share Eleanor’s bright sunshine and her infectious love of life. Researchers and doctors are making significant advances in treating ALL right now, but there is still much to do. Our hope is that the money raised will help develop new therapies to treat and target infant leukemia.

Little Miss Sunshine designed these socks as a fantastically fun way to celebrate her exuberance AND fund childhood cancer research. Please join our fight – Eleanor’s fight – to help children in their battle against cancer and the life-long side effects that will cast shadows on the lives of those who have survived. Fight Ella, fight!
