As for the sock design I figured it would be most important to incorporate Ulman’s colors which are blue and yellow! Also I wanted to have some sort of logo or wording to represent the Ulman Foundation and the 4K for Cancer.

No one should have to face cancer alone. Cancer took one of the most important people in my life away from me- my grandma, “Grammy.” She was my godmother, and a second mother to me. She was our family matriarch, a friend to all, and the unofficial “mayor” of our home town. Up until her last few months of life, she worked at the library, sang, danced, made people laugh until they cried, gardened, cooked, painted, played the piano, and played the stocks.

Through her battle with pancreatic cancer, she was surrounded with the most vibrant love and support around the clock, which is something that not all cancer patients get. In the wake of her passing, though my heart aches, I strive to live boldly, bravely, and energetically, just as Grammy did, and ensure that no one fights alone. This is why I joined 4K for Cancer.

With 4K for Cancer, I am fundraising for the Ulman Foundation, which provides care, support, and housing for young adult cancer patients from diagnosis and through recovery. This summer, I will be joining other young adults in a 49-day relay run from San Francisco to Boston, raising awareness of the Ulman Foundation, visiting cancer centers, delivering scholarships, and learning from other’s stories, all while physically embodying the rigorous journey that cancer patients face each and every day.

Your sock purchase keeps Ulman’s mission alive, and helps build a community to fight cancer.

Our families take great joy in knowing that others are wearing their unique designs all around the world. Wear your socks proudly and tag #RGCommunity
